UTILITY BODIES

Emerco’s  co-polymer fire rescue / utility bodies maintain the longest service life of any body type in the industry today.  With a combined industry experience of over 100 years, our  series of co-polymer bodies are the most innovative concept to hit the fire industry.  Advantages include:

·         Corrosion Free – will not rust – coastal areas and northern areas of salty roads will not affect these bodies. DSCN1545web

·         No need for dissimilar metal isolation – Aluminum and Steel must be isolated because of corrosion between these metals.  Co-polymers do not have to be isolated.

·         Independent tank construction – The tank is mounted independent of the body.  This allows the tank and body to move independently resulting in less stress on the tank.  Also, if the tank needed to be pulled for repair, you would not need to remove entire body.

·         High temperature resistance – Co-polymer bodies are resistant to extreme temperatures.  The tires on your truck will melt before the body is affected.

·         Dent resistant – On low impact, Co-polymer bodies will return to their original dimensions.  If impact is severe enough to cause damage to body, damage will be isolated to the point of impact.  Unlike metals whereby the impact will transfer to other parts of the body.  Repairs can easily be made, and many times, in the field.

The sub-frame assembly is constructed with “C” channel steel and painted using a corrosion resistant paint process.  All frame extensions and rear bumper assemblies are constructed using double frame rails, and the steel bumper is mounted and overlaid with aluminum diamond plate.  The sub-frame is mounted on the chassis using an 8 point mounting system.

Emerco uses only first grade virgin co-polymers and the latest thermal weld processes to insure the most durable bodies in the industry.   All bodies are designed using CAD for your review before your body is constructed.  Emerco’s exclusive paint process makes your body the most durable finish in the industry.  Aluminum of stainless rubber wheel well trim is used in addition to optional diamond plate overlays for front and rear walls for appearance.
